Celebrate the Small Things!

Yet another week has passed by and that means it's time for another episode of Celebrate The Small Things!!! (I love Fridays!!!!)

This is a weekly blog hop sponsored by the amazing Lexa Cain, and co-hosted by L.G. Keltner from Writing Off the Edge and myself.  The purpose: to help us remember all those wonderful, little things that put a smile on our faces this past week (and big ones too).

You can sign-up on the linky below!

This week, I'm celebrating. . .

1) Cooler temperatures! The 90 degrees with 98% humidity days are finally over and now, lower 80's (with just as high humidity but we're ignoring that) are here making it so much nicer to go outside.

2) I've been baking again! With the cooler temperatures, I don't mind flipping on the oven as much. Standing over a hot oven/stove in hot temperatures is simply not my idea of a good time.

3) Finding a 2nd hand store with name brands! This isn't so much for me. I rummaged through the racks and didn't find a single thing I liked. But my daughter discovered a treasure chest.

4) Yummy chocolate! In the care package from Ready.Set.Write! that I won was a chocolate bar I'd never seen before. It had M&M type candies in it and gummy bears and pop rocks. I wasn't sure of the combination at first (gummy bears in chocolate usually isn't my thing), but the pop rocks set it off. I couldn't help but giggle when they zapped around my mouth.

What about you--what are you celebrating? Eat a chocolate chip cookie? See a funny shaped cloud in the sky? Meet someone you haven't seen for ages? Find a great book somewhere? What are you celebrating this week?

  1. I'm loving the cooler weather too, and strangely, it prompted me to bake. Blueberry muffins and a banana bread with chocolate chips. My guys love weeks like that! Have a terrific weekend. :)

    1. Lol! I wasn't too sure about the chocolate at first and it took one or two bites to get my taste buds tuned in...but not bad.

  4. We still have hot, sticky weather here in PA, so no celebration over that. I just discovered the Rangers Apprentice series by John Flanagan. It was recommended by a blogging friend. Was i you? I am greatly enjoying it! I wish I could celebrate a new writing project, but I'm not feeling very inspired this week ...

    1. Nope, it wasn't me who recommended it. Some weeks just aren't inspiring. I think the more we wish them to be, the more they refuse.

  5. Is it wrong if I'm horribly jealous of your 80-degree weather? It'll be another 2 months till temps get that low here. Argh! Congrats on second-hand stores and yummy care packages! Have a great weekend! :)

  6. Cooler weather does inspire baking.....overcast and in the 80s here today too. Not sure how long that will last. It was in the 90s yesterday! Hmm....I'm thinking of a new cake recipe I was just given with pineapple cream topping.

  9. I'd love some of that cooler weather, and I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to turn the oven on when it's that hot. That's an interesting candy bar combination. I'm not much into gummies, but I'd eat the rest, no problem. :)

  12. I love a good 2nd hand store! I take advantage of them all the time for buying clothes for my kids. They wear things out so fast I hate to pay full price.

  15. I'm celebrating my first week at my new job. ^_^ After nearly six months, I'm so happy to be working again, and the new place is worlds better than where I used to be.

And chocolate-covered gummy bears sound really good, I'll have to find some of those...
