Wow, another week has flown by, which means it's time for another visit to Celebrate The Small Things!!!
This is a weekly blog hop sponsored by the amazing Lexa Cain, and co-hosted by L.G. Keltner from Writing Off the Edge and myself. The purpose: to help us remember all those wonderful, little things that put a smile on our faces this past week. (and big ones too.)

This week, I'm celebrating. . .
Gosh, what am I celebrating?. . .
1) Humming birds! I put out a feeder in Spring only to draw in one bird a couple of times, and then he never came back. My feeder dried up, and that was the end of the story. Or so I thought. Last week, a little humming bird was flying over my flowers, so I rushed to get my feeder filled. Now, two birds are visiting me!
2) Old town markets! There's a gigantic seed store close by called 'Bakersville', which offers heritage seeds. . .tons of them. To spice things up, they have an old-fashioned town with a jail, a country store, a black smith. . .well, you get the idea. We decided to pay them a visit, and although small, it was nice.
3) Arizona Ice Tea. Okay, now this isn't one of my favorites, but my hubs thought he'd do something really nice for me and surprised me with a can. (He never brings me anything). It was a super sweet gesture.
And that's my week! What about you? What put a smile on your face this last week? Even a chocolate chip cookie counts. Or a pretty flower. Or a nice sunset. Hey, how about the Blue Moon--get a chance to see that?
What are you celebrating???
Glad you have hummingbirds now.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had humming birds in the UK. My cousin in Phoenix gets them in her garden and she has posted some amazing photos on Face Book.
ReplyDeleteActually, Arizona Iced Tea is my husband's favourite, but for some reason it's been unavailable here for the last few months! Hope you enjoyed it, for his sake, =D
ReplyDeleteHummingbirds are fantastic, glad you're getting some feathery visitors.
There are few things more lovely than staring out your window and seeing birds visiting or squirrels scampering. It makes you smile, right? The old town market sounds like an adventure, what with the blacksmith's and all. Yay for summer outtings and kind hubby's who bring you things!
ReplyDeleteGlad you & the birds are on the mends. What a lovely gesture from the hubby---who never brings you anything!
ReplyDeleteThe market sounds like fun. Any seeds in particular catch your eye?
ReplyDeleteHummingbirds!! Yay! They are like unicorns - rarely seen, but so magnificent! Well, rarely seen to me, but then again, I don't have any flowers around. My neighbors do! Maybe a hummingbird will visit them. ^_^
ReplyDeleteMore yay for quaint little village experiences and small, but thoughtful gifts from loved ones. Have a great weekend!!
I'm celebrating getting a new job. ^_^ I might have said this here before, and I don't start 'till the 17th, but after so long without work I'm thrilled to be getting back to it. And it's a job doing something I'll actually like, I hope.
ReplyDeleteI love hummingbirds! My husband saw one this morning when he was checking the sprinklers outside. A hummingbird flew over and took a shower! I didn't get to see it, but will watch for it in the future. We have several plants in our yard that seem to attract hummingbirds.
ReplyDeleteHummingbirds remind me of Vaughn Williams' "Lark Ascending."
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, both my exhaust fans in the kitchen and bathroom have been replaced, and as an added bonus, they work!
Hummingbirds are so beautiful! Definitely worth celebrating!
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the blue moon, but I did get a glimpse of the hummingbird who visits my flowerbed. I could get lost in watching him hover. So beautiful. What a sweet gesture from your hubby!

I only see hummingbirds once in a while. They're lovely birds. Now I'm in the mood for an Arizona Iced Tea.
