Celebrate the Small Things

Every Friday, the amazing Lexa Cain encourages us to take a glance back at the last week and remember all those small things which put a smile on our faces. . .or the big things too. Thanks, Lexa!

And thanks also to her co-hosts:

This week, I'm celebrating. . .

Three more snow days for the kids!!! My son commented a few weeks ago that all of these snow days are like another Christmas break. Well, he was wrong. It's slowly turning into an entire summer vacation! (Not quite, but we're having fun.)

My writing muse drank several cups of coffee! Okay, I don't know if she really did (or he???) BUT this last week has been a writing frenzy and inspiration has sprouted wings. The muse must be on a caffeine high.

Bluebirds in the hay barn! While getting a wheelbarrow load of firewood from our hay barn (it's multi-functional), I looked up to see five bluebirds perched on a larger branch we still need to chop up. So pretty!

I'm also celebrating the release of my writer buddy's newest book:

It's a sweet romance for these last (notice, I said LAST) days of snow and cold.

Head on over to my parallel blog, Bookworm for Kids, to see my review and all the other goodies about this amazing book,

YAY, CLARA!!!!!

And what about you? What wonderful things are you celebrating this week? Find a fluffy, warm blanket? See a new flavor of chocolate that you've been dying to try? Find a penny on the parking lot?
What put a smile on your face????

  1. Awesome about the writing frenzy!
Remind your son that if he misses too many days due to snow, his school year will go into summer vacation. And that would be a bummer.

    1. They already added another week on (they're only allowed to add one week), so now it's more of a 'more snow days, please!!!!' to make up for that ;)

  2. I used to adore snow days when I was young - what kid doesn't? Snow days ROCK! Yay for your muse's hard work (we hope that keeps up, right?) and for lovely bluebirds. Congrats to Clara!

  3. Coffee - the modern vitamin! Yay. We had ice last night but it's melted today. I guess no more snow.

  4. Haha--was wondering when your muse would realize that coffee is superior to tea. Welcome to the dark side! It's okay . . . we have creamer.

DON'T CHOP DOWN THAT BRANCH CAN'T YOU SEE THE BLUEBIRDS ARE RESTING ON IT?? ;-)

  5. Yay! Writing frenzy!! ^_^
I did get a snow day off work this year, that was exciting.

Anyway, I LOVE brightly colored birds! I always drop whatever I'm doing when I see them and smile. Warm fuzzies. ^_^

  6. It's starting to get colder here in Adelaide and I don't like it. I'm thinking of flying north for the Winter.

  7. Those are all great things to celebrate! We haven't had a snow day in forever, and I'm kind of jealous.

  8. I remember my kids had to make up snow days (if too many). Hope that's not the case!
