Celebrate The Small Things

This weekly blog hop is sponsored by the amazing Lexa Cain,  and co-hosted by L.G. Keltner from Writing Off the Edge and myself.

What exactly are we celebrating?

Every week, wonderful things happen, tiny things, which make us smile. But as time grabs us up, we forget all about these moments as if they never existed at all. This is the chance for us to reflect back on those and remember that there are tons of things worth celebrating.

This week, I'm celebrating. . .

It's World Smile Day!  Since this fits this blog hop so perfectly, I'm going to shout—

Go and SMILE!

Okay, now that I have that out of my system . . .
I'm celebrating

1) Rain! We went about 8 weeks without rain, and my poor pastures were suffering badly. Finally, those drops fell from the sky. It wasn't too much, but everything turned green and is growing nicely.

2) My first draft of a short story is done! Now, come edits...and more edits...and more edits... But that's my favorite part of writing, so yay!

3) The upcoming release of FULL DARK! This is a 'dark' anthology from eleven authors (including me) and will be released just in time for Halloween—October 30th!!! The best part is that ALL. . .yep, that's right. . .ALL proceeds go to the Gary Sinise FoundationThis foundation does lovely things for our country's active military, its veterans, and all of those amazing first responders who keep us safe. The cover isn't finished yet, but it's already on Goodreads here

And what about you? What put a smile on your face this past week? Stomp through the leaves? Find a lovely, unexpected email? See a beautiful picture which inspired you?

What are you celebrating?

  1. That's awesome you have a story in Full Dark. And the charity selected is perfect.
That's a long time to go without rain.

  2. Finishing a draft is always a great feeling. As a fellow contributor, very excited about the anthology's release!

  3. Congrats on the first draft and the anthology. That's awesome the proceeds are going to something like that. =)

  4. Lucky! I've been waiting for it to rain because I keep getting sap all over my car. The line at the carwash stays ridiculous this time of year. Yay for the story being finished!! And OMG, I didn't know about that anthology!! Congrats!!

  5. Wow, that's great. Short story draft done and the anthology. Woo-hoo! I had no idea this was World smile day, but I felt very smiley at my blog today, so I must have picked up the vibes somewhere.

  6. Good luck with the edits and congratulations on the upcoming release!

  7. I really likes your blog! You have shared the whole concept really well and very beautifully soulful read!
    Thanks for sharing

I would love to hear your valuable Tidbits -
