Celebrate the Small Things
This weekly blog hop is sponsored by the amazing Lexa Cain, and co-hosted by L.G. Keltner from Writing Off the Edge and myself.
What exactly are we celebrating?
Every week, wonderful things happen, tiny things, which make us smile. But as time grabs us up, we forget all about these moments as if they never existed at all. This is the chance for us to reflect back on those and remember that there are tons of things worth celebrating.
This week, I'm celebrating. . .
1) A lovely birthday! My eldest took us out to dinner, and the others are pushing my not-so-talented green thumb with really pretty flowers (I do love them and hope I can keep them alive). And my husband got a beautiful cake - the flowers on this one had me all smiles. So pretty!
2) Things are looking up on the job hunting end. We're praying the right one will slide into place soon (staying patient is always so hard!)
3) Our 2nd car is finally running again! I've been playing hobbit for 3-4. . .5? months now. So the minute I got mine back, I jumped in and drove to town and felt free. . .Free. . .FREE! Watch out world, here I come!
And what about you? What put a smile on your face this last week? See a rainbow? Take an unexpected side trip? Get some writing/editing done?
What are you celebrating?

What a beautiful cake. Happy Birthday Tonja!!! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSeeing all the hilarious positions my cats sleep in made me smile. That and re-reading Jenny Lawson's Let's Pretend This Never Happened.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Glad the family treated you right.
ReplyDeleteI would go insane without my own car.
Yeh for a fun birthday and a yummy cake!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty cake!! Happy Birthday!! ^_^ You're a trooper trekking around without a car. My dad borrowed my car for 12 hours a couple of months ago, and I felt stranded. Lol!
ReplyDeleteSo happy your car is working again. We don't realize how much we depend on them until they break. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I just celebrated mine last week!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. I stopped having them and am now ageless!
ReplyDeleteTonja, Two things put a smile on my face. DH's slow recovery from retina surgery and my daddy getting good news about his CT scan that nothing has changed since the last time they checked his lungs. God is awesome! Thanks for popping over for a peek at my #AprilA2Z Art Sketching Through the Alphabet series letter "A" along with my April 1st #BoTB showdown. Have an excellent week, my friend and happy belated birthday! :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cake - love the daisies! Happy Birthday!! Good luck on the job-hunting front & big yay for getting your car working again!(I used to play this cute game called Penguin Puzzle. The penguins were in ice cubes and if you broke them out, they'd yell "FREEE!!!" in tiny little voices! lol)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! ^_^ And best of luck with the job hunt, I know what that's like. Here's hoping things fall into place soon.
ReplyDeleteAnd this week, I'm celebrating finishing the edit of version 2 of my book. Soon, I'll be sending it to my beta readers.
I love the cake! Happy birthday! Good luck with the job hunt. Those things can be exhausting and challenging, to say the least. Glad your car is working again. I spent a few months without a vehicle myself until we got another one last month. It is freeing to be able to go to town when you want. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday, that cake is so cute! Glad the car is running again and you can head out into the world!
ReplyDeleteHey Tonja, Happy belated birthday! That cake looks so nice and drive as much as you want. All the best with the job prospects.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! It was my husband's birthday as well. We went to a restaurant to celebrate, but they thought it was MY birthday so they sang to me and wished me a happy birthday, so I felt like the birthday was mine. lol
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your job hunting. Glad to hear that your car is running as well!
