IWSG

Good morning (afternoon or evening, depending on when you see this), and welcome to another edition of IWSG! This is an amazing writers support group started by the just amazing Alex J. Cavanaugh. Writing can be a lonely life, and it's definitely one filled with ups and downs. This group gives writers a chance to let their feelings go, say what's making them insecure, or offer support to others.
Thanks also goes to this month's co-hosts:

M. Pax, Tracy Jo, Patricia Lynne, Rachna Chhabria, Feather Stone, and Randi Lee

My post is going to be VERY short this month. Nope, I'm not feeling insecure right now. I'm simply trying to my manuscript done and out the door so I can start a new one for Ready. Set. Write! next week.

I ran across this inspirational speech yesterday. . .one most of you have probably seen, and if you haven't, head over to youtube and enjoy all the sillinesses the green screen has inspired. Great for procrastinating...OH! That's exactly what I'm not doing. Nope. Not one little bit. (Okay, maybe a tiny second or two)

Anyway, this mirrors my writing thoughts at the moment:

And how is your writing going? Feeling blue? Moving right along? Letting summer thoughts float through your brain instead? Or maybe just taking an ice cream break (gelato)?

  1. ^_^ He's awesome.

Is it summer? I haven't noticed, being how I haven't seen the sun in a week. :P

    GO GET THAT STORY!!

  3. Loved the snippet. I finally did the "just do it" when I felt my closets needed a 'weeding'. Finally I went in and threw out anything that I no longer needed, wanted, worn, or liked. It felt so good. And, no, I'm not going to fill them up again. It's so good to not have all that excess and trivial things holding me down. I thinking that editing my manuscript has the same effect. I get rid of the stuff that doesn't add to the characters, scenes, or plot. After the editing, there is so much more clarity of the story, more impact. Thanks.

  4. Michelle - I laughed too :)

Krystal - After I typed about summer, I thought about adding the rain...but hey, we're going for hopeful thinking!

Alex - The faster the better.

Carole - Glad to hear it. Good writing!

    Krista - Thanks :)

Feather - Closet weeding is freeing. Good for you!

  10. OMG, a writer who's not insecure! You need to take whatever that is and bottle it! Then give some to me. :-)

Hahaha--gelato. You know that was only on your mind b/c of me. ;-)

  11. Okay, that video is hilarious and kind of awesome. And it's so right! It's amazing how many people talk about writing and leave out the "JUST DO IT!" factor - no matter what else you do, nothing matters if you don't put your butt in the chair and write. ^_^
