Celebrate the Small Things

It's time for another edition of. . .

CELEBRATE THE SMALL THINGS!

This is a weekly blog hop sponsored by the amazing Lexa Cain, and co-hosted by L.G. Keltner from Writing Off the Edge and myself. Every week, wonderful things happen, tiny things, which make us smile. But as time grabs us up, we forget all about those moments. This is the chance for us to reflect back on those and remember that there are tons of things worth celebrating.

If you'd like to join in and add a little more joy to your week, then go ahead over to Lexa's or simply pop by the linky below!

This week, I'm celebrating. . .

1) Lots of writing time! It's been a bit quieter this week (Finally!), so I actually got a chance to sit down, type and do some outlining. I'm 30,000 into my WIP and can't wait to see it grow. (Oh, not all words were this last week. It's just great to see a WIP getting fatter)

2) Proud mommy moments! My oldest daughter is in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) at school and attended district competitions this last weekend. She not only won enough votes there to become the new district VP of FBLA/PBL relations but also took 1st in her speech category (Sales Presentation). So off to State she goes! (I'm all smiles)

3) Lunch! Valentine's Day brought an ice storm, so we celebrated a day later and went out to lunch--whole family, of course. The best way.

What about you? See the first flowers coming up? Watch snowflakes drift down? Survive an ice storm? Get to laugh about a stupid joke? Smell something delicious?

What put a smile on your face this last week?

  1. I was happy to book some classroom Skype visits this week, and I'm finally moving forward on my WIP after weeks at a virtual standstill. I don't think it's a coincidence that I wrote practically nothing during the month when I practically couldn't move at all. The better my foot gets and the easier walking and returning to normal life gets ... the more I am feeling creative.

  2. I went crazy when my signed hardback copy of Glass Sword arrived on Monday. More writing time is always a good thing and congrats mom and daughter combo!

  3. Your buttons must be bursting! Congrats to your daughter!!!

No flowers yet, in fact we got hit with a snow storm last week.

Congrats on getting over the hump of your WIP>

  4. Congrats to awesome kids! :)

I'm so excited about your growing story!!

The weather has been temperamental. No more snow, but rainy and cold to warm and rainy in a matter of days. I don't mind. :)

  5. Congrats to your daughter, that is so great!

We were in sunny Orlando on Valentine's Day, so I got to spend it at Disney with my husband and our son...perfect, =) Now we're back in Canada, though, and the change in temperature (from summer to middle of winter in a day!) has given me a cold, =/

  7. Congratulations on your accomplishments this week (both getting so much writing done, and having your daughter make you proud)! It seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. And how nice you got to spend Valentine's Day with you family--the ones you love most. This week, I am celebrating friends who send get well cards.

You know who you are. ;-)

  9. Congrats on getting to 30k in your WIP! That's awesome! It's wonderful that your daughter found something she enjoys and is good at. It may just be me, but an ice storm would keep me indoors, not send me out for lunch. LOL! Have a great weekend! :)

  16. Congrats to your daughter! I was in FBLA and went to the competition, but I never placed in anything. I didn't really know what I was doing compared to people like your daughter!

We do Valentine's as a family too. I agree; it's the best way!
