Celebrate the Small Things
The wonderful Vikki over at Viklit has sponsored this weekly meme with the sole purpose of reminding us that it's the small things in life which make the difference. But after 2 years, she's retiring (THANKS FOR THE LOVELY TIME!!!) Now, the just as wonderful Lexa Cain is stepping in. YAY! So the celebration goes on!
Thanks to her co-hosts!

This week, I'm celebrating. . . (I know we're supposed to put 1 thing...but this week, I still have a few. Great week?)
1) Several books from my TBR list were at the library! So, I've been in reading heaven this week....The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater and Splintered by Howard. Luckily, my hubs found a book he can't let go of this week too, so I've been able to bury myself in my reading chair every evening.
2) The fireplace! Gosh, it's been cold outside. What would I do without this wonderful source of warmth???
3) My son bought his first car. A 1994 Camero (for anyone out there who knows what that is). It's black and spiffy looking but needs some TLC. He was hoping to start on it this week, but the cold scared him away...can't say I blame him.
4) IWSG! I love that time of month...but if you take a peek, you'll notice I'm still behind. My internet is so slow lately! My comments are coming, they just take a while *sighs*
And what about you? What wonderful things happened this week? Find a left over candy cane stuffed below a ornament? Dig out a terrific, wool scarf? Maybe you found something warm to snuggle to???????
What are you celebrating this week?

IWSG post day is always my favorite!
ReplyDeleteCool your son got a Camaro.
Stay warm!
Cool Camaro! And, ahh, reading heaven - love that! Happy Celebrations!
ReplyDeleteI love fireplaces! Makes the cold so cozy laying in front of it with some coffee and a nice book! It's my kind of winter heaven!
ReplyDeleteI love an open fire. Unfortunately we had to get rid of ours because the chimney was an earthquake risk. A fake gas fire isn't quite the same….
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list of things! What I'd give for a hubby who liked to read... Yay for your son's new car and for cozy nights in front of the fire and especially for great books to read while you're there. Thanks for the kind words and for signing up on the new linky!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love libraries! They're a wonderful thing. I'm glad you were able to find the books you wanted to read.
ReplyDeleteGreat things to celebrate!! I have made the decision that this year I'm going to start actually putting my local libraries to use.
ReplyDeleteFireplaces are wonderful things!
A car!! How fun! Do let me know how you like Splintered. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have a fireplace, but I do have an electric blanket I'm making good use of.
I love library notifications > come and get it! My fireplace is so nice too.
ReplyDeleteHave your son get a big blue tarp and drape it over the open car hood. I did that to replace a carburetor. Works like a charm! You can also buy some of those little heat packs. You shake them and then put them in your pockets - keeps your hands warm. They should last between 3-6 hours.
Have a great weekend!
I so love the library! Glad you found some awesome books to read!!

The library is a favorite place of mine. How wonderful that you have a feast of books...and time. Certainly something to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteI too am grateful for fireplaces, but . . . please tell me you have central heating to also keep you warm!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your son's new car! I'm sure he'll be hard at work on it when the weather warms up.
This week I am celebrating the arrival of a cheap, high quality magazine stack I got from a lovely seller on ebay. Thank you, seller! :-D Also central heating. ;-)
Finding your books at the library is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI need to go to my public library more often.
ReplyDeleteI remember the Camaro from my high school days. The boys seemed to like it.
I'm glad Lexa took over. I've been thinking about joining, so I might do so in the future.
Oh my goodness, a Camaro?! Is he a Transformers fan? Very cool :-)
ReplyDeletehey T! I will stay clear of telling you it's "Camaro" and that I will steal it because of that very reason! I'm so jealous!!! so glad you found loads to read and seem to be having a stellar month!
ReplyDeleteMy brother used to have a Camaro. How fun. It's great to have so many things to be thankful for! I'm thankful for my family, and that no matter what happens, we can always be a family together. Even if things aren't what we expected.
ReplyDeleteI love my fireplace! It was the first thing I saw when I first looked at my house and made me fall in love.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to have many good things! Congrats to your son- tell him to drive slowly. ;)
