Celebrate The Small Things!

What time is it?  Why it's time to celebrate!

And what?  The small things, of course!

This is a weekly blog hop sponsored by the amazing Lexa Cain, and co-hosted by L.G. Keltner from Writing Off the Edge and myself.  If you'd like to join in and add a little more joy to your week, then go ahead and sign-up on the linky below!

This week, I'm celebrating. . .

1) Colder temperatures! It's SO nice to put on a light jacket and warm up with a cup of hot tea. And the stews, soups and comfy dinners make this one of my favorite times of year.

2) Fall leaves! I went into the forest yesterday to help my husband out with a gate and had to giggle as the thick layer of leaves crunched under my boots. I'll admit, I've never grown up when it comes to leaves. I kick them into the air, throw them at my kids (and husband, but he's not as humored as me) and fall into piles. Got to love those leaves!

3) Beds! Actually, I'm stealing this idea from my younger son. One night he told me that one of his favorite things in the world are beds because he can finally stretch out, close his eyes, rest and dream and cuddle in the blankets. And it's quiet. And peaceful. And warm. I totally agree. Beds are awesome.

And what about you? What are you celebrating this week?
Pumpkin Spice Lattes? (I'm hoping to snag one of those tomorrow!)
Snowflakes?
Sunsets?
A splash in the pool?
Playing a new game?

What put a smile on your face this last week?

  1. Oh yes leaves bring out the kid in us all! I like all those comforting foods too, nothing like the smell of a stew slowly cooking ....... mmmmm

  5. OMG, I am the total opposite of you.I hate colder weather! Except the jackets and the soups and the beds part (your son is very wise). However, I am celebrating the fact that my BFF had another BABY this week! Daughter #2, Saira, beautiful and healthy. Also, it's perfectly okay to never outgrow leaves. Don't forget to rake a big pile and jump in them!

  6. I like a big pile of dead leaves. I remember jumping in them when I was a kid. And those first chilly days are always nice. It's the 100th that gets a bit old.

  10. Aw, your son is such a cutie! I know what he means, and I'm definitely sleeping better these days now that it's colder. Even with A/C I find it hard to sleep in the summer. So yay for leaves, warm beds, and comfort foods! Happy Halloween! :)

  11. I haven't had a pumpkin spice latte yet this year - definitely on my to-do list! I love all of those things; my bed is one of my favourite places to be. There's nothing like getting into bed on a cold winter's night :)

  12. I'm happy for colder weather too, especially since I was promised a lot of rain when I moved here and we had such a warm summer. >_< As for what I'm celebrating... I don't know if "celebrate" is the right word, but I start querying today. Yikes.

  13. I'm conflicted on the cold weather, but beds are pretty awesome, especially if they've got big fuzzy blankets to go with them.

  14. I love pretty much everything about fall. And as far as beds go, now that it's gotten a little cooler, I kind of look forward to crawling into bed at night with my Kindle. It's basically the only free time I have for reading.

  15. I wish I could be thankful for colder temps here; it's still in the 90s here! But I'm still enjoying those Starbucks holiday drinks in my red cup :-)
