Celebrate the Small Things

Happy Friday!!! It's time to celebrate those small things!

This weekly blog hop is sponsored by the amazing Lexa Cain, and co-hosted by L.G. Keltner from Writing Off the Edge and myself.

What exactly are we celebrating?

Every week, wonderful things happen, tiny things, which make us smile. But as time grabs us up, we forget all about these moments as if they never existed at all. This is the chance for us to reflect back on those and remember that there are tons of things worth celebrating.

This week, I'm celebrating. . .

1) Disney Parades! Did I get to go to Disney World??? Don't I wish. But my daughter is there this weekend marching in the parade. She was chosen to be apart of a special 'American Cheerleaders' group and perform this weekend. She has a lovely, Christmassy uniform and is enjoying the sun. I'm really happy for her.

2) My first youtube book review! Awhile back, I mentioned that I had received a scholarship for a booktubing seminar, and it's running full swing. I'm still not sure about it (so much work, so little time). Plus, I still have a ton to learn. But you can see my first attempt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKJZqpCQh_Q

3) Christmas tree is up! I'm putting the finishing touches on this weekend, and then I'll snap a picture. Our tree is always a mish-mash of whatever ornaments have managed to survive the years as well as a collection of the wonderful ones the kids have made. So it's always fun to put it up.

What put a smile on your face this last week? Get buried in snow? Go ice skating? Take a plunge in a wave at the beach? Get a massage? What are you celebrating?

  2. Wow you did a great job with the review! I'm impressed. I have a terrible time trying to be natural on camera and end up seeming like a lunatic LOL.

Congrats to your daughter. What a fun experience!

  3. You're really off to the races this holiday season, with tree up and all. Guess I'm just an old slacker as nothing is yet done. Enjoy the season.

  4. I just put our few Thanksgiving decorations away! I focus more on gift buying/ordering first then start pulling out the wrapping paper, the decorations etc.

  5. Marching at Disney? That sounds so fun. Congrats to her. We just put up our tree and we got a big one to hold all our ornaments. So far our new kitty likes to mess up the tree skirt by crawling under it, but she is not climbing the tree or playing with the ornaments. Whew!

Good job on the book review. You've got a nice steady, but expressive voice.

  6. Yay! Video!! ^_^ I thought it was great!

I'm planning on getting my tree up this weekend. Growing up, we had the big tree with a smorgasbord fun of ornaments, too. ^_^

    Congratulations to your daughter!

  9. Looked in on your review and left a comment - rather strange as you sound and look rather like me with an American accent!! I had to do videos for my teaching practice at times. Big cheers for your daughter getting to be in the Disney parade - what an experience for her and can't believe your Christmas tree is up already - I'm pleased with getting the advent calendar out and filled for the 1st! 12. Glad that you've had such things to smile about. ^_^ Most everything over here has been one giant ball of stress and anxiety, so the only thing I've really had to be glad about is that what writing work I've managed to get done has been going well. Ack. >_<

And loved your youtube review - That's a brave thing to do. I'd be happy to donate a copy of CR if you'd like to use it for another one - that's fantastic!
And getting the tree up is a great accomplishment, I have yet to undertake it...this week!
    Happy December!
