It's time for another edition of. . .
CELEBRATE THE SMALL THINGS!
This is a weekly blog hop sponsored by the amazing Lexa Cain, and co-hosted by L.G. Keltner from Writing Off the Edge and myself. Every week, wonderful things happen, tiny things, which make us smile. But as time grabs us up, we forget all about those moments. This is the chance for us to reflect back on those and remember that there are tons of things worth celebrating.
If you'd like to join in and add a little more joy to your week, then go ahead over to Lexa's or simply pop by the linky below!
This week, I'm celebrating. . .
This is a crazy week (probably for several of you too), so here's the short scoop!
1) My youngest's birthday! She's now a huge nine years old and is feeling pretty big. My hubs had the great idea of decorating my hay trailer and meeting the school bus at the end of our dirt road (yeah, we really live in the boonies). He packed on drums, tambourines, horns, soap bubbles, flowers....it was quite the parade. And scared our neighbor's cows to death *hehehe*
2) I signed a contract this last week! I'm now an official, professional (*clears throat* I love saying that word) book reviewer. I'll be writing for a new off-shoot of an international book tour company which starts April 1st - The iRead Review. Won't be rags to riches, but I'm hoping to squeeze an ice cream or two out of it.
Enjoy your weekend! And Happy Easter!!!
What about you? What put a smile on your face this last week? See a rabbit hopping by? Catch a snowflake on your nose? Get a lovely glimpse of the moon or stars? What are you celebrating?
Surprising you daughter and scaring the cow - awesome!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the reviewing gig.
Have a Blessed Easter.
:) The kids loved watching the calves run and jump away.
DeleteCongratulations on your new job! That is fantastic! I hope you managed to make a few bucks doing what you love. :-D Also, your husband is super for being so creative in showing his daughter he care. GOOD LIFE MATE CHOICE. This week, I'm celebrating making some serious-a$$ progress on SELUNA II. I'm thinking it will finally be done in the next 2 weeks. It's one of the longest (and I think, most ambitious) books I've ever written.
ReplyDeleteYes! I was just wondering this morning when you'll FINALLY ;) be sending out that for beta reading. I'll get my bowl of chocolates and pot of tea ready!
DeleteCongratulations, Tonja! You're going to do great!! And happy birthday to your little one!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHappy birthday to Lea! It's wonderful that your husband made such a big fuss, and I'm sure the cows will recover. Congrats on your new reviewing job! I hope you enjoy it and can afford lots of ice cream cones! Have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteTons of ice cream would be nice. As to the cows, I'm hoping the kids didn't have too much fun and be scaring them more often ;)
DeleteTonja!! Congratulations!! You are great at reviews - they're lucky to have you. :)
ReplyDeleteThat trailer is such a sweet idea!
Aw! How sweet of you! Lol! I think we might have started on new b-day trend. The kids on the bus were totally amazed, I heard.
DeleteCongrats on the reviewing job. Happy birthday to your daughter. Have a great holiday weekend.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new deal, Tonja! And hurray for turning 9 to your lovely daughter! Hope you all have a Happy Easter ~Lori~

ReplyDeleteHappy b'day to your daughter. I had a birthday this week, too. Nine was a loong time ago for me. Congrats on the job!
ReplyDeleteAww I bet your daughter loved that surprise. And congrats on the new contract. Happy Easter to you and the family.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful news about your new job - you should feel really proud :) I loved the decorated hay-cart - what a super daddy - a memory to cherish! Have a fantastic Easter :) Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your youngest, and congratulations on becoming a professional book reviewer!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the review job! Sounds interesting, and there's nothing quite like getting paid to read and talk about it. ^_^
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I'm celebrating having writing stuff go well again after some particularly hard days. Oi.
That is so sweet!! I bet your daughter remembers that moment forever.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the job!! Hey, we don't need riches when you can get an ice cream for doing what you would do just for the love of it.
