Celebrate the Small Things

It's time for another edition of. . .

CELEBRATE THE SMALL THINGS!

This is a weekly blog hop sponsored by the amazing Lexa Cain, and co-hosted by L.G. Keltner from Writing Off the Edge and myself. Every week, wonderful things happen, tiny things, which make us smile. But as time grabs us up, we forget all about those moments. This is the chance for us to reflect back on those and remember that there are tons of things worth celebrating.

If you'd like to join in and add a little more joy to your week, then go ahead and sign-up on the linky below!

This week, I'm celebrating. . .

1) Snow days! Maybe ice days would be a better description. But either way, it meant three days off of school for the kids. Even today.

2) Cookies! The kids baked yesterday. Secret Kiss Cookies (white balls with chocolate kisses hidden in the middle) Yummy! Too bad they were all gone only hours after leaving that oven.

3) A cuddly blanket! My daughter gave me this wonderfully soft, fluffy, leopard looking throw blanket for Christmas, and I've been wrapping up in to all week long.

4) Getting to do an interview over at Sherry Ellis's blog! It was fun doing one with her...and she's such an amazing musician and author (you should take a glance at her picture books!). It definitely put a new twist in my week.

And what about you? What wonderful things put a smile on your face this last week? Get hit by those big snow storms and get to go sledding? Sip at hot chocolate? Find the perfect new shoes?

What are you celebrating?

  2. We have snow today!! I'm so excited. Just looking at snow makes me feel warm inside. ^_^ The kids up here have also been out of school since Wednesday.

Where did someone even find a cookie recipe like that?! Yum!! Also, big props to fuzzy blankets and awesome interviews. Your story sounds really good! ^_^

  5. I'm glad you had some nice snow days with your kids and fun on Sherry's blog! I always cook double the amount of anything I make - that way I don't run out 'coz running out of cookies is a tragedy! LOL

  7. Tonja, DH & I have been dressing in layers to fight the cold. We did get a few days that weren't so bad, but the next two days aren't going to be good ones. It's currently snowing with the possibility of 2-4". I think we will see more, if this storm holds out like they're saying. Oh well, have a good weekend with the kiddies and stay warm!

  8. I am celebrating WALKING! After three weeks of being forbidden to put any weight on my foot -- of rolling around on a silly cart, fumbling on crutches, or worse, crawling on hands and knees -- I can stand up and walk!!

Never has such a simple action been more appreciated!

  9. Here in Southeast Virginia, it snowed heavily, but of course, changed to rain. That was good, for I got home OK.

  10. Those cookies sound awesome, no wonder they were gone so quickly! No snow here, unfortunately. I love snow, but we hardly ever see it. Have a great weekend!

  12. I'm celebrating surviving my move into my new apartment. ^_^ It's a much nicer place, I love it already even though today was my first full day here. It's also on the third floor, so moving was kind of a pain... still very sore. But totally worth it.

  13. I'm celebrating getting through another chapter on my story,
not living on near D.C. during the snow storm, and the good health my family has experienced so far this year.

  16. Those sound like some fun little things to celebrate! I live in a (usually) warm part of the country, so no snow days here. But it gets chilly in the morning, so I do like to wrap myself in a warm blanket while I eat breakfast.
