Right now, most of my lawn is covered with ice. It's supposed to warm up next week, though. Looking forward to that. I don't know what it's called but he goes to a German bakery here and get very dark soft bread with what looks like oatmeal in the crust. I tried it and it was DELICIOUS! Yay for having a real live baker in your family! It's so sweet your old choir sent you a letter. I bet it made your day! Good luck on the grass and the cows. (While working at a CT horse stable, I found I was very allergic to hay. Unless I wore big, long work gloves, the straws would poke me and I'd end up with huge hives up my arms and on my chest. Nope, not a fan of hay...) Of course, a husband who bakes it is a double reason to do so! (maybe it's time to open up that bottle of champagne in the fridge). Congratulations on your unexpected letters and growing grass.

Personally, this week I am celebrating buying my first pairs of skinny jeans EVER (finally lost my extra weight), and a great lunch out with my BFF (Cheesecake Factory, which, come to think of it, has fabulous pumpernickel bread. Took home a piece of cheesecake and enjoyed it all week!). Oh, and a tiny little publication you may have heard about . . . and that your readers will soon. ;-)

Hope you have an even better week ahead!Ilana Watershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12165533927457061719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429089326602617796.post-49380080850982160632016-03-04T14:41:50.634-08:002016-03-04T14:41:50.634-08:00Ciabatta is pretty difficult, but so good!Ciabatta is pretty difficult, but so good!Tonja Dreckerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07683717853264134466noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429089326602617796.post-9865448445177459282016-03-04T14:40:51.268-08:002016-03-04T14:40:51.268-08:00One of the things we miss most about Germany are t...One of the things we miss most about Germany are the bakeries...they always smelled heavenly.Tonja Dreckerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07683717853264134466noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429089326602617796.post-13995342553234484072016-03-04T14:40:08.128-08:002016-03-04T14:40:08.128-08:00Trips to the park?Trips to the park?Tonja Dreckerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07683717853264134466noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429089326602617796.post-58594917408595801582016-03-04T14:39:40.267-08:002016-03-04T14:39:40.267-08:00Don't forget those patties though.
